New Bestsellers: Debuting on this week’s New York Times bestsellers list are Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith (Mulholland) at #2 on the Print Hardcover Fiction & #3 on the Combined P&E Fiction lists, and What Happens in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand (Back Bay) at #7 on Paperback Fiction list. Overall, HBG has 22 titles on the NYT list this week, and our client publishers have five books on the list.
5 Under 35: Naima Coster, author of What’s Mine and Yours (GCP), has been included in this year’s 5 Under 35 list from the National Book Foundation. Naima was selected by Tayari Jones. New England Book Awards: LBYR swept the children’s book categories for this year’s New England Book Awards – Oge Mora’s Saturday won the Children’s category, Jewell Parker Rhodes’ Black Brother, Black Brother the Middle Grade category, and Julia Drake’s The Last True Poets of the Sea the Young Adult Category.
FT/McKinsey Award: Rebecca Henderson’s Reimagining Capitalism in a World on Fire (PublicAffairs) has made the cut to the shortlist for the Financial Times/McKinsey Book of the Year Award. The winner will be announced on December 1. See the full shortlist here.
New partnership: Hachette Go announced a new publishing partnership with Arianna Huffington, Marina Khidekel and the editors of Thrive Global. Slated for publication in March 2021, Your Time to Thrive is the first in a series of wellness books by the team at Thrive Global, a leading behavior change tech company founded by Arianna Huffington. The Associated Press story about the partnership was picked up widely in U.S. News & World ReportWashington PostYahoo! News, and ABC News, among many outlets.
HBO Trailer: HBO has released a trailer for The Undoing, a limited series based on Jean Hanff Korelitz’s 2014 novel You Should Have Known (GCP) and adapted by writer and executive producer David E. Kelley. The six-episode series will premiere on October 25 and stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar Ramírez, Noah Jupe, Lily Rabe, Noma Dumezweni, Sofie Gråbøl, Matilda De Angelis, Ismael Cruz Córdova, and Donald Sutherland.
